Introducing Hans and Peter...
Hans has been singing for as long as he can remember. His favorite music includes a variety that stretches from traditional folk music of his country to operettas. And he is a consumer of a ll kinds of good music. But in today's music scene, the new offerings have not been to his taste, and there isn't much new music for the 'boomer' generation, and the older generation. So Hans wrote a number of texts, music of the sea with its theme of yearning adventure in new and exotic places, then remembering the value of home while off in faraway places.
In addition, Hans has written a set of texts for romantic songs of his
German homeland, texts that celebrate relationships, but also celebrate
beautiful places in his homeland and of Austria, such as the Rhineland
and Vienna. Peter has written arrangements for many of these texts, and
you may order the arrangements for your own performances. Many of them
are written for a female voice.
Peter is a musician from Dessau, Germany. He began learning accordion at age 5. His musical training specialized in piano and French Horn. In addition to working with experimental music and with dance bands, he has been arranging music for many years. The list of Peter's accomplishments is long. Check out some of his newest arrangements, of Hans' texts.
Though now mostly retired, Peter still teaches music in Dessau.
Hans and Peter have created this site to offer you new music in the genres that have been ignored by the beat, rock, rap and noise offered by the mainstream music sources. This music is from the heart, meant for easy listening, good vocals, and overall listening pleasure.
Peter, third from left in the front row, with the dance band Hellmut Richter. The band was successful during a time when competition from the new sounds of beat, rock, and soul were in vogue. The band's success lay in their ability to take advantage of those sounds, creating their own sound, the "Hellmut-Richter-Sound".
The band produced all their own arrangements, with Peter Meister as the chief director and arranger.
Peter has also done a lot of work with youth, including a dance group, "Starkstromfunken" (translates loosely to: lightning bolts), and for a youth ballet. One of Peter's ambitions is to compose for a large string orchestra.
